Compared to last week: Feeder steers,
heifers, and heavy Stockers 1.00 to mostly
2.00 higher; exception 9 weight steers
steady. Light stockers and calves steady.
Demand good for all classes. Bulk of sales
800-900 lb steers and 725-850 lb heifers
off wheat. Cattle performing very well on
wheat and farmers marketing cattle some
2-3 weeks ahead of schedule.
Receipts this week 10,725; last week
9260; last year 7108. Supply consisted of
80% yearlings over 600 lbs; 16% calves
and light yearlings; 4% cows and bulls.
Heifers comprised 30% of feeder and calf
supply.
Prices follow with weighted average
weight and price in parenthesis.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
remained generally light and unaggres
sive. Seller offerings were fully sufficient
in handling current inquiry. Live supplies
were moderate: weights were mostly de
sirable.
Processing schedules were moderate to
light. Less than trucklot asking prices
were unchanged at 52 to 62 cents. Trade
sentiment was mostly steady. In the parts
complex, boneless skinless breasts were
clearing satisfactorily. Bone-in breasts
were ample. Leg items were fully ade
quate. Wings were in good balance to
closely cleared.
