Rutgers Students Attend Collegiate 4-H Conference NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. College students, Jillian August in, Sarah Tomasino, and Michael Holcombe represented Rutgers, the State University of New Jer sey, as delegates to the National Collegiate 4-H Conference, Feb. 20-23, in Fort Worth, Tex Michael Holcombe son of James and Karen Hol combe, Mohr sville, was a member of the Berks County 4-H Beef Club for ten years. The confer ence, hosted by Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Kansas State University, show cased many activities, all focusing on leadership and community service. While at the conference stu dents from universities and colle giate 4-H clubs across the United States converged to attend work shops designed to stimulate char acter building, increase leader ship and role model abilities, and perfect business etiquette skills, to name a few. Additionally, delegates assisted in a restoration effort at the his toric Fort Worth Stockyards as a community service project, which was the highlight of the confer ence. The conference concluded with a motivational speech by the famous poet and writer, Baxter Black, during the closing ceremo ny banquet. Susquehanna Co. 4-H Sizzlin’ Steaks Club Susquehanna Coun ty’s Sizzlin’ Steaks 4-H Club met at Mitchell’s house Mar. 30 for their first meeting. After the pledges were said, the following offi cers were elected: President/Treasurer, Aaron Phillips; Vice President/News Report er, Olivia Zick; and Sec retary, Christina Zick. Phillips gave the trea surer’s report which in cluded $4O received from the beautification spot and $25 for the window display.
