According to Montgomery, an education pro cess is part of REDDI’s plan to promote biodie sel in the state. This would include more work teaching children in schools about alternative energy. “It’s proven technology,” Shearer said. REDDI covers an area including Franklin, Cumberland, Adams, York, Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster, and Beiks counties, as well as part of northern Maryland. It helped launch a corn based ethanol-producing facility, set to be built next year in Adams, York, or Lancaster coun ties. If completed on schedule, it will be the first ethanol plant in the Mid-Atlantic region, out of a total of 70 in the country. For more information call REDDI at (717) 920-8454.
