When I’ve Come To The
End Of Life’s Journey
When I Come to the end of
life’s journey, and I’ve
gone' the last mile of the
way. When friends come
to cry and bid me good
bye, I wonder what they
will say.
When they lay me to rest in a
casket of white, from this
troubled old world I’ll be
free, O what will they say,
as they walk slowly by,
when they take that last
look at me?
When they stand ’or me
weeping and mourning,
then the crowd will walk
slowly away, when they
lift up the lace that covers
my face, I wonder just
what they will say.
When they lay me to rest in a
casket of white, from this
troubled old world I’ll be
free. O what will they say,
as they walk slowly by,
when they take that last
look at me.
When I’m left all alone at
the graveyard and they’ve
laid me beneath the cold
clay, when the flowers
they gave are placed on
my grave, I wonder just
what they will say.
When they lay me to rest in a
casket of white, from this
troubled old world I’ll be
free, O what will they say
as they walk slowly by,
when they take that last
look at me.
