84-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, April 12, 2003 Ida’s Notebook Ida Risser As years go by it seems that we change our attitude on many things. If we are lucky we become more patient in dealing with oth ers. Even though we do not in tend to raise our children differ ently we do. If we have severed children, then the younger ones may have more opportunities to do things. Maybe money is not as scarce and so they can attend more functions. Or, we can buy more things for them. One of our grandchildren ex pects to travel to Germany for a second time. His high school orchestra will be playing there this summer. Then he in turn will host a Ger man student in his home. He has been studying the German language for several years in school. Talking about trav eling, our daughter’s family will be going to Hawaii during their spring break from school. They have been planning this trip for months. This is something that I prob ably would not do today. But, 20 years ago I thought nothing of taking this big trip. Although, an Amish lady did ask me if I was going to drive there. That would be rather difficult to do. Another older daughter is going to fly to Seattle for a week. Her family owns a house there which must be checked on every now and then. As she lived there more than ten years there will be many people to visit too. We are expecting a visit from our youn gest daughter too. She lives in Maine and will drive here with her two youngest boys who don’t go to school. It is a long day’s drive to make by herself. At one time I might have attempted such a trip but not Turn Your Gutters Into Virtually SELF CLEANING GUTTERS Gutter ProTech® • .027 Aluminum - Never Rusts • 20 Yr.
