2003 National Holstein Convention June 21-24
WINSTON SALEM, N.C.
National Holstein Convention
planners have announced farm
tour locations for this year’s con
vention in North Carolina June
21-24.
Two separate tours will be con
ducted one in the eastern part
of the state, the other in the west
ern part. The tours will take
place simultaneously on Sunday,
June 22 from from 7 a.m. to 5
p.m.
The eastern tour will include
visits to Maple View Farm Inc.,
Hillsborough, N.C., a 120-cow
operation run by Bob and Chris
Nutter and Russ and Kelly Sei
bert; and Buttke Dairy Enter
prise, 1,400-cow dairy owned by
Arlini and Norma Buttke, Rand
leman, N.C.
The western tour group will
visit Sunny Hill Farm, a 140-cow
dairy operated by Vance and
Susan Proctor, Vale, N.C.; and
Rocky Creek Dairy, which fea
tures an 1,100-cow herd managed
by Ben and Mimi Shelten, Olin,
N.C.

Moravian History Tour
Visit Histone Bethabara Park a National Histone Landmark site of the first Moravian
settlement in North Carolina have lunch and then visit Old Salem Old Salem is an
authentic restoration of the Moravian community that was started in 1766 The
Moravians are a Protestant faith started in the 1400 s in the province of Moravia now
part of the Czech Republic From a later base in Germany the Moravians went
throughout the world as missionaries and to found settlements From Bethlehem
Pennsylvania they came to the colony of North Carolina in 1753 You can read more
