The culinary school partnered with the Beef Council, McCor mick and Company, Karns Foods. Hormel, RMH Foods. Bubba Burgers, Catelli Brothers Veal and the Pennsylvania Veal Produc ers Association to prepare more than 35,000 beef and veal samples during the eight-day 2003 Pennsylvania Farm Show. Farm show visitors sampled McCormick beef stew and veal chili, veal picatta, veal stew, veal meatballs, Hormel fully cooked beef pot roast, RMH'Quick-N-Easy fully cooked meat loaf and pot roast and Bubba Burgers. “We are grateful to the culinary students for their assistance at the 2003 Farm Show; we are pleased to make this contribution to their program and look forward to partnering with them again next year,” said Slayton at the check presentation ceremony. The honor was given for an educational guide designed to promote veal on the retail level while serving as an industry resource for food retailers. Titled “How to Respond to Consumer Ques tions About Veal,” the publication placed first in the public affairs/issue management catego ry and qualified to advance to the national competition where it will compete against three entries in its respective category. The guide contains information to respond to consumer questions about veal, including nutritional value, appropriate cooking meth ods, frequently asked questions and quality as surance of veal production.
