In addition, “I like the people
that I see there at the show,” said
Eliza. “And I get to catch up on
what everyone is doing, because I
only get to see them a couple of
times a year.”
Besides working for other ex
hibitors, “I want to participate in
the Skillathon and maybe the
Quiz Bowl,” she said.
“I just help them on show day
or help them with their cattle
when they’re washing and blow

more of a youth show, so they
(the exhibitors) will be showing
their own animals.”

To prepare for the competi

The Waltons exhibit cattle at
4-H Roundup, the Pennsylvania
Angus Breeders Show, Atlantic
National, and local shows.
In addition, Eliza has also
shown at KILE and Farm Show.
For Eliza, exhibiting cattle ac
tually had its beginnings in the
dairy ring, as she has also exhibi
ted dairy cattle.
She began exhibiting dairy cat
tle because her grandparents had
a dairy farm, however her uncle
(who used to show Angus), intro
duced her to the beef cattle ring.
Eliza has been showing cattle
since 1995, and Leah, who has
three cattle in her own show
string, has exhibited cattle for
four years.
For Leah, other 4-H par

club in the past. However she
is considering joining the
equine activities this year in
4-H.
