CHICAGO, 111. Responding
to customer requests, Chicago

has approved a series of revisions
to its live cattle futures contract
intended to extend the contract’s
utility to a wider customer base.
The new contract
specifications are ef

Ad Hoc Advisory
Group consisting of
industry participants
and members of the
National Cattlemen’s
Beef Association as
well as other users of
the live cattle con-

“Their expertise and
advice were invaluable
as we constructed a
contract that is in
tended to be useful to
the broadest constitu

“We believe increas
ing deliverable weights
will bring the contract
into line with long
term industry trends
toward heavier cattle
and, thus, its useful
ness to hedgers,” said
CME President and
Chief Executive Offi
cer Jim McNulty.
