I bought this doll for my daughter in 1950, 51.
The box is marked “Betty the beautiful bride”. All
original clothes. Is there a current value on this
doll?
Research on the internet shows your doll
was made by Deluxe Premium Corp., a divi
sion of Deluxe Reading, Topper Toys. They
went out of business in 1972. Your doll could
sell in a shop for $lOO or more.
I would like to know the value of this painting
of island people signed P. Gauguin, 91. It is on
paper and the paint can be removed with a damp
ened Q-tip. It appears to be oil paint. I found it
years ago in on the floor of a basement in an an
tique shop.
It is possible you have an undiscovered oil
painting by French artist Paul Gauguin, worth
thousands. You might start by contacting a
museum curator of 19th century European Art
at your closest large museum, in your case The
Art Institute of Chicago. If authentic they can
further advise you.
