It may be six or seven years, or 21 or three,
But will you, till / call her back, lake care of her for Me?”
She’ll bring her charms to gladden you, and shall her stay be
brief,
You’ll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise will slay since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there / want this child to
leant.
I’ve looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lane I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come-to call to lake her home again?”
I fancied that / heard you say: “Dear Lord, Thy will be done,
For all the Joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we’ll run.
We’ll shelter her with tenderness, we’ll love her while we may
And for the happiness we’ve known, forever grateful stay!
But shall the angel call to her much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the belter grief that comes and try to understand.

ANSWER Warrren Giidewell, Bloomsburg, asks if
anyone knows of something similar to balsam of myrrh.
Thanks to Shirley Orfanella, Quarryville, for writing that
myrrh was one of the gifts of the wisemen. In ancient
times, essential oils were secreted from shrubs in the
burseraceae family and used for embalming fluid,
anointing oil, a pain killer, and for use on sores,
wounds, coughs, and worm infestation. Myrrh is also a
great bug killer. Any plant from the burseraceae family,
when cut, will exude a smell similar to turpentine. Today
myrrh is used as an incense and in perfume.
