Trade sentiment was fully steady to
firm in the West, no better than steady to
barely steady in the Northeast, steady in
remaining areas. Retail demand ranged
slow to good, best where features were in
progress and in anticipation of first-of
the-month needs. Food service was light
to fairly good, best into fast food areas
with ads. Supplies were usually sufficient
for trade needs. In the parts structure,
breast items were in good balance to tight
and continued to trade at premium levels.
Wings were increasing in availability and
dark meat was mixed, however clearing
well. In production areas, live supplies
were moderate at weights in a full range.

At A Glance
In Chicago, prices were unchanged.
Prices in New York were 2 cents lower on
medium and 1 cent lower on the larger
sizes. Elsewhere, prices were unchanged,
but were trending lower on all weights.
The market tone was barely steady to
weak. Demand was slow to moderate,
slightly better where features were
planned or in progress. Supplies of all
sizes were adequate to available. Breaking
stock demand was light to moderate for
sufficient to closely balanced offerings.
Light type fowl were ful)y_ adequate for
normal slaughter schedules.
