The domestic market continued season
ally slow on most items as industry mem
bers start looking towards next week’s
poultry convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
Trading was light on all items with activi
ty centered on plant grade 4-8 lb. breasts
and fresh thigh meat for domestic ship
ments. Offerings of most items were avail
able with hen 2-joint wings in the best po
sition.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was slow to moderate at best. Seller offer
ings were ample, especially the 2.5 and 3
pound sizes which were difficult to clear.
Live supplies were moderate; weights
were in a full range of light to heavy. Pro
cessor schedules were moderate to moder
ately heavy. Less than trucklot asking
prices were 1 cent lower at 59 to 69 cents.
Trade sentiment remained weak. In the
parts complex, bone-in breasts and wings
were in good demand and available sup
plies cleared with ease. Other items were
adequate to fully adequate and were gen
erally noted as clearing satisfactorily. ES
