High grain diets can be hard on your
herd’s health. High energy balage (and
pasture) makes milk with less cow stress.
These high sugar varieties are new
releases that we are very excited about.
Harvest in pre-boot stage and expect Nels
in the 0.70 to 0.76 range with excellent
protein too. They look great in both our
test plots and University plots!

TIVOLI Tetraplold Perennial Ryegrass
After 2.5 years in our test plots, Tivoli is the best overall ryegrass variety. Tivoli had twice as
much sugar compared to most other varieties, very high yields and the least aftermath heading
(summer headiness). In the 2001 Cornell Univ. Trial the 2002 Tivoli yield was 5.67 tons of dry
matter. Highest yielding perennial ryegrass in trial. Very late heading date (June 12 at Cornell).
h ,
Our varieties look like ryegrass. Both varieties establish very quickly giving excellent yields ,
RERUN
A 3-year ryegrass type. In the 2000 Michigan State Univ. Trial, after two years of data (2001-02)
Rerun dry matter yield was 14.2 tons, the highest in the entire grass trial. Trial mean 11.10 tons.
In the 2001 Cornell Univ. Trial, the 2002 yield was 6.85 tons of dry matter. Trial average 5.29
tons (entered with ryegrasses including Tivoli). Great for short term rotations and pasture repair.
LOFA
A 5-year ryegrass type. In the 2001 Michigan State Univ. Trial, the 2002 dry matter yield was
6.99 tons - the highest in entire grass trial. Trial mean 4.86 tons.
