Windermere Farm Wins Draft Horse Show
HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.) Nearly 100 draft horses
were shown in the new Equine
Arena at the Farm Show. They
were judged on their class, agili
ty, confirmation, type, and over
all appearance. This year, Wind
ermere Farm won Best of Breed
for the Percherons and went on
to take the championship with
their mare, Eastwind’s Shaylynn.
Windermere Farm, Spring
Mills, Center County, shows their
Percherons all over the East
Coast at national shows. Gerald
Allebach and family have owned
their farm, near Penn State since
1963. They own one of the top
Percheron stallions in the world
and ship frozen semen all over
the U.S.
Lewis and Gail Biddle and
family of Boalsburg, Center
County, won the Belgian Best of
Breed Award with their horse,
OHF Queen Ann’s Vision. As for
the Clydesdales, Roger and
Nancy Thoms of Aaronsburg,
won Best of Breed with their
horse, Terragold King Footprint.
Alfred and Donna Rovenolt had
the champion gelding with their
Percheron, Hardy Farms Thun
der’s Ace.
