Ohio Woodland Stewards Program Boosts Forestry Skills
COLUMBUS, Ohio More than
330,000 Ohioans roughly the same
as the population of Cincinnati
own forestland.
But not all of them know what’s
best for that land.
Teaching them is the mission of
the Ohio Woodland Stewards Pro
gram, a joint effort of the Ohio Divi-
Patz

Challenged?
• Regulatory pressure,
• Wet weather conditions,
• Proximity to watersheds,
• Drainage problems.
• Lack of cropland for application,
• Nutrient management.
• Expansion needs.
You need Patx Manure Solutions
now and In the future.
A key benefit of separation is
controlling the volume of solids in
the manure slurry.
• Reductions in storage needs mean you
can have a smaller setting basin.
• Build-up of solids in the Lagoon can
reduced.
• Stored solids can be handled at a mi
appropriate and convenient time.
• Composted solids can be reused as a
soil conditioner, stall bedding or as
a marketable product.

According to the forestry division,
more than 30 percent of Ohio is for
ested, and 94 percent of that portion,
or about 2.5 million acres, is privately
owned. So helping Ohio woodland
owners helps a lot of Ohio woodland
and its trees, timber, water and
wildlife.
