USD A Grants Protection To 25
WASHINGTON, D.C. The
USD A has issued certificates of
protection to developers of 25
new varieties of seed-reproduced
and tuber-propagated plants.
They include bean, com, fescue,
lettuce, meadowfoam, oat, sorg
hum, soybean, and wheat.
The 25 certificates are being is
sued under the Plant Variety
Protection Act. The certificates
require that the varieties be new,
distinct, uniform, and stable. The
owners will have the exclusive
right to reproduce, sell, import,
and export their products in the
U.S. for the duration of protec
tion.
The 25 certificates are:
