National Agricultural Service
(NASS). The inventory was 8
percent below December 1, 2001
and 9 percent below December 1,
2000.
Placements in feedlots during
November totaled 1.98 million, 4
percent above 2001 but 2
percent below 2000. Net j—

During November,
placements of cattle and
calves weighing less than
600 pounds were 589,000,
600-699 pounds were
