Erik F. Rasmussen, market administrator for the Northeast Federal Milk Marketing Order, has announced that the statistical uniform price (SUP) paid by milk dealers (han dlers) regulated under the North east Order during November 2002 is $12.31 per hundredweight ($1.06 per gallon) for milk deliv ered to plants located in Suffolk County, Mass. (Boston). The pro ducer price differential (PPD) portion of the SUP for November is $2.47 per hundredweight for milk delivered to plants located in Suffolk County, Mass. The PPD ($2.47) combined with the corre sponding month’s Class 111 price ($9.84) equals the SUP ($12.31) The SUP represents a bench mark minimum price paid to dairy farmers, prior to allowable deductions, for farm milk con taining of 3.5 percent butterfat, 2.99 percent protein, and 5.69 percent other solids. The actual price received by an individual dairy farmer will vary as the com position of a farm’s milk differs from the component benchmarks. The Class prices for milk pool ed in November are as follows: Class I, $13.85 (Suffolk County, Mass.); Class 11, $11.26; Class 111, $9.84; and Class IV, $10.58. Com parable prices for November 2001 were: Class 1, $19.01; Class 11, 12.78; Class 111, $11.31; and Class IV, $11.97. Milk receipts from producers totaled 1.971 billion pounds.
