EXPORT MARKET HIGHIIGHTS
Demand was light to moderate with inter
est noted from Asia. Mexico and Russia
Trading was heavy on tom 2-joint wings
going to Asia, balance light. Movement
centered on frozen thigh meat and me
chanically separated turkey going to Mex
ico, balance light.

Trucklot buying activity on ready-to
cook whole broiler/fryers was light to fair
as dealers remained cautious and at-
tempted to maintain very closely balanced
floor stocks. Offerings of all sizes ranged
balanced to adequate for most immediate
needs. Movement through retail and dis
tributive channels was limited. The mar
ket tone was steady to fully steady.

Trade sentiment was mixed, but overall
mostly steady. Retail demand was limited
to fair at best with few features present.
Food service was fair to good with strong
est movement for fast food promotions
and catering services. Availability was ir
regular, but at least adequate and easily
obtained. In the parts structure, trading
was light and selective to fair due partial
ly to weather conditions in the East and
interest m other holiday items. Breast
items and wings were mixed with some
locations reporting increased supplies, but
improved in others. Dark meat was more
than sufficient. In production areas, live
supplies were moderate. Weights were de
sirable to heavy, mostly desirable

Elsewhere, prices were lower on mediums
and unchanged on the larger sizes. The
market tone was cautiously steady. De
mand was in a full range of slow to very
good and was best where features stimu
lated additional interest Supplies were
adequate to available with mediums in
the longest position. Breaking stock de
mand was light to moderate for mixed of
ferings. Light type fowl were at least suffi
cient for the light demand.
Cooperators estimate orders for the
week ending Dec 13 will increase by 8
percent. Present week purchases for the
week ending Dec. 6 were 256,772 cases
which was 20 percent below the prior
week and 22 percent above estimates.
