Another keynote for the history books occurred at the 46th annual Keystone Interna tional Livestock Exposition as the Texas Longhorn breed entered the small arena of the Pennsylva nia Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. In the female Texas Longhorn classes, Willard Edgar Sr. of Smithsburg, Md.. exhibited the grand champion female, Tiptoe’s Oklahoma Cowgirl. The reserve grand champion female was the entry exhibited by Damon and Lizz Huntzberry of Smithsburg, Md. Shadow Pomp owned by Damon and Lizz Huntzberry of Smithsburg, Md., took home the grand champion bull. Entering the winner’s circle in the bull Texas Longhorn competition was Cole Huntzberry’s Vindicator of Smithsburg, Md., for the reserve grand champion bull. The Texas Longhorn Show was conducted in con- junction with the Key stone International Livestock Exposition, which was Oct. 1-7 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, Harris burg. This year, the Keystone Internation al Livestock Exposi tion had a record 5,056 horses, beef cat tle, sheep, and swine from 28 states and four Canadian prov inces. To better serve agricultural exposi tions such as KILE, the Pennsylvania De partment of Agricul ture initiated an $B6 million investment in a landmark construc tion project at its Farm Show Complex. Also, the Department of Agriculture has dedicated new and ad ditional financial re sources to KILE.
