num broiler fry pan. When a
little water is added to the
pan and the rack is used to
warm things without drying
them out, the water stains

cides have killed them for a
short time, but they keep
coming back stronger than

ANSWER - Ray Calvin
Miller Jr., Leesport, is re
questing expert information
on how to clean the exteri
or of a brick building. It
was built in the 19305. The
bricks are yellow and
brown and have been top
ped with aluminum capping
as well as some copper.
Over the years, stain runs
have formed. Miller has a
steam cleaner but needs to
know the best chemical so
lution to use. Thanks to
Bob Snyder, Akron, Ohio,
for writing that he thinks
the best method to clean a
porous surface such as
brick is to blast with sand,
ice, baking soda, etc. Snyd
er did not include specific
instructions or where to
find them.
