quality 220-270 1h barrows and gilts sold
1.00 higher, with the rcmaindei of the
mixed supply trading fully 1.00 lower
The quality of the light run was well
below average to kick otf the day, increas
ing towards the close; and bidding was on
an even keel with the quality. The termi
nal markets out West are trading their
market ready 220-270 pounders from
29 50-31 SO to open the week, which
means the local trade is in line with most
other large markets.

There were not enough pigs going back
on feed to adequately test the market
Compared to last week's very light run,
slaughter pigs sold sharply higher Bids
were quick to break 200.00 on the light 20
lb supply due to very active bidding; as
buyers were aggressivelv trying to procure
the light weight pigs to meet the holiday
demand Receipts were hack up to around
normal for this time of year after drop
ping last week due to the holiday Buyers
had their trucks lined up at the chutes be
fore the sale even began as a snowstorm is
expected to dump three to six inches late
Wednesday night All pigs were weighed
and graded on arrival and sold by the
hundred weights
