Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was seasonally slow to fair and sufficient
in keeping the bulk of seller offerings in
manageable balance. Live supplies were
moderate; weights were generally desira
ble. Processor schedules were moderately
heavy. Less than trucklot asking prices
were unchanged at 48 to 62 cents. Trade
sentiment was no better than steady. In
the parts complex, items and volumes
available sometimes differed by plant,
however, all cuts were fully sufficient for

ly higher on sugar yolks, unchanged to
slightly lower on salt yolks, and un
changed on the balance of products when
compared to last week’s trading. The
market tone was barely steady on salt
yolks and steady to about steady on the
remainder of items. Demand was report
ed light to moderate from most traders.
Supplies were adequate to closely bal
anced for current trade requirements. Liq
uid and frozen eggs (ingredients included)
processed under federal inspection in the
Eastern region for the week ending No
vember 16, 2002 were unchanged from
the previous week and 7% lower than a
year ago.
