and gilts sold firm to .50 higher, with hogs
weighing over 300 lbs trading as much as

Feeder Pig Auction
NEW HOLLAND, PA
November 13, 2002
Report Supplied By USDA
Receipts: 508 Last Week: 560 Year
Ago: 431
Compared to last week, a feeder pig
trend was not fully established due to only
around 6 percent of the run returning to
feed. However, on the few comparable
lots prices trended with a higher under
tone as the few feeder buyers on hand
were paying slaughter prices to procure
their needs. Out of state feeder buyer at
tendance is still very light as the pseudo
rabies outbreak from several months ago
still prohibits inter-stating pigs. Slaughter
pigs weighing from 18-28 lbs sold sharply
higher in active bidding, with all other
classes of slaughter pigs trending firm to
5.00 higher. All pigs were weighed and
graded on arrival and sold by the hun
dred weights.
