November 8,2002 Report Supplied By USDA NATIONAL SLAUGHTER SUM MARY for Week Ending Nov. 8, 2002; Cattle trades remain at a minimum thru Friday morning. Few sales on a dressed basis in the northern plains remained steady. Most feeders holding for another week of higher prices. Final weights and carcasses yields have declined thanks to wet weather creating very muddy condi tions. High pressure has moved in and pens are starting to dry out. USDA’s boxed beef cut-out values Friday at noon averaged 107.49 up 57 cents from last Fri day. Sales of slaughter cattle on a nation al basis for negotiated cash trades totaled a minimum of 23,800 head through 10:00 a.m. Friday. Last week’s full count was 171,300 head.
