Daily National Grain Market Summary St. Joseph, MO October 23,2002 Report Supplied By USDA Wheat and corn bids continued to drift lower while soybean bids made a come back from Tuesday. Wheat 1 to 10 cents lower. Corn 1 to 2 cents lower. Sorghum 3 cents lower. Soybeans 5 to 8 cents higher. Winter wheat planting is moving along ahead of normal and with moisture on top of that, bids declined. Export sales have been slow this week for wheat after last weeks large bookings. Corn bids were slightly lower for the fourth consecutive day with most of the pressure coming from declines in wheat. A couple overnight export orders and higher soybean bids, limited losses in corn. Wet weather across the Midwest and Com Belt areas has slowed bean har vest and could cause some yield losses. Stronger bids are also a reaction to dry weather in Northern Brazil and wet con ditions in Southern areas.
