Northeast Dairy Business magazine and Em pire Farm Days will be hosting a se ries of Dairy Profit Seminars focused on the latest in management and profitability strategies from those who know the business. Horse owners will have new and expanded opportunities at this year’s Empire Farm Days. For the first time, the show will have an informa tion center dedicated to the equine industry. The new Equine Center, lo cated on West Pencil Pusher Ave, will feature educational and informa tional displays about and for the equine industry. In addition to the center, horse owners will see trailers, tractors, fencing, feed and other in puts necessary to maintain their equine business. USDA and the New York State DEC have tents filled with informa tion and displays for Northeast farm ers. Folks interested in the latest re search, programs and agricultural technologies should visit Cornell University’s New York State CALS tent. Don’t miss the timely display in this tent featuring criminal loss pre vention and biosecurity information from state and local officials and ex perts. The Special Events Center/Empire Building will again host award win ning farmers and students as the Empire State Potato Growers Inc., American Agriculturist and New York State Department of Agricul ture and Markets team up to present an Environmental Stewardship Award and the ESPG annual schol arship. This area will also serve as a meeting place for farmers to learn more about the Farm Bill and Deer Management. There is certainly power ture and EFD is privileged to the New York State Future Farmers of America and New York 4-H Tractor Operators Contest.
