Pasture Walks Set
LANCASTER (Lancaster Co.)
A series of pasture walks have
been organized by local graziers
in cooperation with Lancaster
County Cooperative Extension
for people who are interested in
grazing dairy cattle.
Hours for all the walks are 10
a.m. to 2 p.m., DST. For biosecu
rity reasons, all who attend are
encouraged to wear clean clothes,
wash their footwear before visit
ing the host farm and before re
turning home, and stay out of
feeding and young stock areas.
Lunch plans vary with each lo
cation, as described below. In an
effort to help host farms make
necessary arrangements, reserva
tions will be appreciated, and can
be made by calling the Lancaster
Cooperative Extension office at
(717) 394-6851. Dates, places,
and other details are as follows.
• Thursday, Aug. 1. Jeff
Stoltzfiis farm, located south of
Kirkwood at 32 Lakeview Rd.,
east of Rt. 472. Jeff is a certified

Will Host ‘Beef Day’
SYRACUSE, N.Y. The New
York State Fair will honor the
beef industry in the Empire State
on Tuesday, Aug. 27 as it cele
brates the seventh annual Beef
Day.
Join the beef industry on this
day for Beefs “Thrill of the
Grill” media burger-making con
test. The kickoff to Beef Day will
be at 10 a.m. at the pavilion at
Cole Muffler Court. Beef indus
try leaders and friends from
across the country and through
out New York State will again
meet at the state fair to partici
pate in this event.

Rd., between Noble Rd. and Bar
tville Rd. Jake has nine years of
grazing experience and 100 acres
of grass. He milks 50 cows and
feeds no grain. A light lunch and
drinks will be provided.
