She has tried balloons with faces and mothballs to deter them, but neither works. Dr. Nancy Winning, Holtwood, writes the only thing that consistently works to keep birds out of a barn is a cat. But if you have a dog that chases a cat, you are out of luck. Feed the cats in the barn and the cats will keep out the birds.
