PMMB To Consider Lower Premium
(Continued from Page A 1)
The PMMB responded by sched
uling a hearing to receive testi
mony and exhibits on the matter.
The hearing is set for July 30.
According to Fink, the PAMD
asked that the premium decrease
to no more than $1.25 per hun
dredweight in order to help
maintain a reasonable price paid
to dairy farmers.
“We realize that prices are low
right now,” he said. “We want to
try to help (producers) as much
as we can without putting our
selves at a competitive disadvan
tage.”
Lancaster Farming’s annual
Dairy of Distinction section is July 27.
The issue is scheduled to include feature
farm reports on more than two dozen
Dairy of Distinction award winners.

$1 per hundredweight, Fink
noted.
Persons wishing to present evi
dence at the hearing must notify
the board on or before July 24 at
4 p.m.
The July 30 hearing is sched
