FFA Members Go For The Gold UNIVERSITY PARK (Centre Co.) Competing for gold, silver and bronze medals, more than 1300 Pennsylvania FFA members par ticipated in FFA Activities Week at Penn State University in June. In addition to their gold medals, many top individual winners and the first place team winners also received monetary awards to com pete at the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky., in October. Other high placing individuals and second place team members won trips to the Eastern States Exhibition (The Big E) in Springfield, Mass., in September. The Career Development Events (CDE) included Dairy Foods, Dairy Cattle Judging, Poultry Evaluation, Meats Judging, Livestock Judging, Wildlife, Speaking contests. Floriculture, Horse Evaluations, Agriculture Mechanics, Forestry, and more.
