In Philadelphia and Boston, prices
were unchanged to 2 cents lower on medi
ums. Prices paid to producers in New
England were 2 cents lower on mediums,
and 1 cent higher on extra large. Prices
remained unchanged on the balance of
sizes. The market tone was mixed, mostly
steady to fully steady on the larger sizes,
however the smaller sizes ranged barely
steady to weak. Demand was light to
moderate. Supplies were adequate to
available for needs. Breaking stock offer
ings were adequate to ample for the light
to moderate demand. Light type hens
were fully adequate to ample for process
ing needs.

heavier weights, however medium sizes
ranged barely steady to weak. Demand
was light to moderate. Supplies were fully
sufficient for current requirements. The
New York shell egg inventories were 5%
lower than the previous week and the
New Jersey shell inventories were 13%
higher than last Monday.

were a factor. Supplies of the larger
sizes ranged tight to available while
offerings of mediums were fully suf

quirements. Breaking stock demand
was light to moderate for sufficient
to ample floor stocks. However, in
some areas, offerings were limited
from regular suppliers. Light type
hens were fully adequate to ample
for the unaggressive demand.

items was steady to instances fully steady,

continued disappointingly light and unag
gressive. Offerings remained fully ade
quate to ample, and where excess supplies
were available, they were generally diffi
cult to place Live supplies were seasonal
ly moderate; weights were light to heavy,
mostly desirale to heavy. Processor sched
ules were moderate to moderately heavy.
Less than trucklot asking prices were un
changed at 52 to 64 cents. Trade senti
ment was barely steady. In the parts com
plex, all items were in a range of fully
adequate or readily available for the
limited buyer interest.

Trade sentiment remained no better
than steady. Demand into retail was slow
to fair, best for limited features, and food
service fair to good, strongest for fast food
promotions and delis. Supplies were at
least adequate or available for trade
needs. In the parts structure, availability
easily exceeded demand resulting in a
light and cautious buying interest. Breast
items and wings were available, yet had
increased in some instances. Dark meat
was fully adequate to ample and contin
ued slow to clear. In production areas,
live supplies were moderate at weights in
a full range, but mostly desirable. In parts
of the West, live weights were affected
due to extremely hot temperatures.
New York Broilers/Fryers
Trucklot buying activity on ready-to
cook whole broiler/fryers was light as
dealers kept floorstocks in close balance
with the limited demand Offerings of all
sizes were at least adequate for most im
mediate needs. Movement through retail
and distributive channels was slow. The
market tone was no better than steady.
