6 percent. Present week purchases for the
week ending June 28 were 242,472 cases
which was 4 percent below the prior week
and 2 percent below estimates.
CASES PURCHASED; CARTONED:
201,792 down 4% ; LOOSE; 40,680
unchanged; TOTAL; 242,472 down 4%.
Comparison figures are compiled on a
matched plant basis. Purchases and esti
mates by 17 cooperators; 30 dozen cases
or equivalent.

needs.
EXPORT MARKET HIGHLIGHTS:
Trading inactive. Demand was very light
as most exporters remained idle due to
the upcoming holiday and breakdown of
negotiations for product.

plies were fully adequate to ample for
needs.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was moderate and clearing the market at
a reasonable rate. Demand was moderate
with buyer interest and trading. Live sup
plies were moderate to heavy for the mar
ket being reported with an estimated
slaughter of 1,375,000 compared to
1,306,000 last Tuesday. Weights were de
sirable. Processing schedules were moder
ate. Supply and demand of leg quarters
are moderate for the market being report
ed. Actual slaughter for the week of 6/24=
6/29 was 7,401,669 head with an average
of 4.90 lbs.
Negotiated F. 0.8. dock prices, 2
pounds and heavier ice-packed broilers
and fryers, trucklot sales of US Grade A
or equivalent were steady at .50 -.60 per
pound; less than trucklot sales .49 -.67 per
pound.

whites, unchanged to lower on sugar
yolks and lower on whole and salt yolks
when compared to previous week’s trad
ing. The market tone was about steady to
steady on whites and mixed to barely
steady on the remainder of products. De
mand was unaggressive for supplies that
were at least adequate on whites, suffi
cient on whole, and adequate to fully ade
quate on yolks. Liquid and frozen eggs
(ingredients included) processed under
federal inspection in the Eastern region
for the week ending June 22 were 42%
higher than the previous week, and 8%
higher than a year ago.
