CATTLE: Compared to last weeks
closing prices slaughter steers sold mostly
steady, instances .50 lower on the High
Choice and Prime grades. Trading
opened the week active with prices hold
ing steady. However late m the week ko
sher demand was light showing some
weakness for the top quality cattle. Hol
stein steers traded mostly steady on a
light supply. Slaughter heifers not well
tested. Feedlots in the Plains and Midwest
reported live cattle 1.00 lower mostly
64.00 and dressed sales were not well
tested but a few sales traded 98.50-102.00
avg 100.05 as of Thursday afternoon.
Early sales of slaughter cows sold steady
to 1.00 higher to close late in the week
