Association of Jetfeison County (i e , located in
Watertown, N Y) has an exciting oppoitumty loi an
individual who wants to make a ditfeience in
agriculture The agionomy educator will participate as
part of the tour member agricultural team, which
consists ot agronomy, dairy and livestock management,
larm business management, and hoiticulture The
audience the agionomy educatoi will woik with is
varied and includes but is not limited to farmers,
agribusinesses, agencies, umveisity staff, adults, youth,
volunteers, and co-workers The abilities to com
municate, transfer information to, and effectively work
with all audiences are essential skills necessary tor the
success ot the position The agronomy educator will
conduct educational programs on northeast forage
ciops and corn silage, a state appioved program to
certify and recertify pesticide applicators, as well as
othei piograms Program implementation methods
would include but is not limited to on-farm
consultations, field demonsti ations, workshops,
meetings, printed matenals, and via the media The
successful candidate must possess a BS with a major in
agronomy or an agncultural field however, a MS in
agionomy or related field is strongly desired
Experience or knowledge in noitheasl forage crops and
the dairy industry is also desiied Salaiy is
commensurate with expenence The successful
candidate must be willing to work flexible houis as
well as furnish own tianspoitation This position
suppoits and complies with affhmalive action policies
and proceduies and Americans with Disabilities Act
