Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was about moderate and often noted as
better than expected for mid-week. Seller
offerings continued to vary in both size
and volume and were clearing satisfacto
rily at most plants. Live supplies were
moderate; weights were irregular in a full
range of light to heavy. Processing sched
ules were moderate to moderately heavy.
Less than trucklot asking prices were un
changed at 58 to 72 cents. Trade senti
ment was steady. In the parts complex, all
items remained at least adequate for cur-
rent inquiry.

Mostly prices were unchanged on
whites, but sharply higher on the remain
der of products when compared to last
week’s trading. Trade sentiment was
steady on whites, but improving, and the
balance of items was fully steady to firm.
Demand was generally moderate to good.
Supplies where available were held with
confidence. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingre
dients included) processed under federal
inspection in the Eastern region for the
week ending June 1,2002 were 11% lower
than the previous week, but 34% higher
than a year ago.

drums ranged light to fully adequate
mostly adequate, tom 2-joint wings light,

The hen parts market tone ranged from
steady to firm on 2-joints to mostly steady
on the balance of items. Offerings of hen
2-joint wings were light at best and held
with confidence, light to adequate on the
balance of items. Trade sentiment on
fresh mechanically separated turkey was
steady to fully steady with some noting
offers not as tight as previous weeks.
