Corn Belt Feedstuff
St. Joseph, Mo.
May 28,2002
Report Supplied By USDA
CORN BELT FEEDSTUFF: Whole
sale Bids. Truck or Rail dollars per ton.
Feedstuffs prices were mixed for the
week. Central regions of the U.S. re
ceived moisture over the weekend, with
more predicted from Des Moines down
to Austin tonight and tomorrow, and
moving eastward. A few dry days last
week and over the weekend aided farm
ers in planting. Even though we’ve seen
above normal moisture, forecasters pre
dicting average moisture and tempera
tures through the summer months. Corn
and soybean markets look as if they
could rise, given the cool, wet conditions
which has effected planting and grow
ing. Other feed ingredients pretty quiet
with the exception of fat and grease mar
kets, which are higher due to lower
slaughter numbers and plant storagd
space. Hay remains steady, although
demand is mixed, again depending on
moisture conditions.
