when compared to previous week’s trad
ing. The market tone was mixed on yolks,
but ranged mostly steady to fully steady
and the remainder of items were steady.
Trading and demand was mostly moder
ate. Supplies were adequate for current
trade requirements. Liquid and frozen
eggs (ingredients included) processed
under federal inspection in the Eastern
region for the week ending May 04, 2002
were 3% higher than the previous week
and 6% more than a year ago.

Trucklot buying activity was mostly
fair and noted as typical of midweek trad
ing, however, most dealers were cautious
and content to work from hand-to-mouth.
Offerings of bone-in breasts were fully
adequate and available at discounted lev
els. Boneless-skinless breasts were at least
adequate but clearing well. Dark meat
cuts were fully sufficient. Wings and ten
derloins were ample. Movement through
retail and distributive channels was about
fair with the occasional feature providing
best draw. The market tone was weak on
bone-in breasts, cautiously steady on
boneless-skinless breasts, barely steady on
wings and tenderloins, and about steady
on the balance.
