One of my goals when I became Secretary of Agriculture was to build a new Livestock Evaluation Center.
And, I wanted the new PDA facility to be a leader in the nation. Good News! It is time for the Ground
breaking Ceremony!
May 24, 2002. 11:00 AM. RT. 45 approximately 2 miles south of Pine Grove Mills (Left Side). RT. 45
approximately 1 mile north of Ag Progress Days (Right Side). Very easy to find. Look for the Tent.
While the PA Department of Agriculture operates the Livestock Evaluation Center and its programs, we
appreciate the professional association and friendship we share with Penn State and the livestock
organizations. In addition to the test performances PDA conducts as a service to the livestock industry, the
new Livestock Evaluation Center offers the opportunity for other research, student instruction, industry
outreach, and professional collaboration. The new Livestock Evaluation Center will greatly enhance our
opportunity to work together in pursuit of livestock excellence.
Please make every effort to attend the Ground-breaking Ceremony. Bring your livestock friends,
PS. I appreciate the support the PA Department of Agriculture has received from the Governor, St-ate
Lawmakers, and the Department of General Services.
