Daily National
Grain Market
Summary
St Joseph, JTO
May 8,2002
Report Supplied By USDA
Grain and soybean bids were moderate
ly higher for the day as crop concerns,
weather, and export news offer support.
Wheat 2 to 5 cents higher. Com 4 to 6
cents higher. Sorghum 8 to 10 cents high
er. Soybeans 2 to 4 cents higher.
Rains continue to fall on soft red winter
wheat areas and missing the dry areas in
the hard red winter areas. Crops are feel
ing the stress and traders bear severe yield
losses. Good overnight export orders from
Taiwan added light support to wheat
bids.
Corn and bean bids were stronger as
wet conditions continued to keep pro
ducers out of the fields. Technical buying
on the board was noted as more rain is
forecast across the Corn Belt. Lack of ex
port interest limited gains for both com
and bean bids.
