Unused FAST (Fixed Activated Sludge
Treatment) System Biologically oxidizes organic
matter to produce a clear odorless effluent which
is then disinfected by an ultraviolet sterilizer This
system was originally designed to be used
onboard ships but is also usable on land. It is
sized for approximately 125 people or 7000
gallons per day. The effluent could be directed
toward a stream, or used for watering. Here is
how it works:
Arrangement This system includes two
pumps, a Roots blower, UV Sterilizer, diverter
valve, three float switches, control panel and
remote alarm panel All equipment except the
remote alarm panel is assembled on the unit.
The tank is approx. 16’ long x 8’ wide x 9 ft
high. Drawings and more detailed information is
available. Although the system is unused and
never run, bearings and seals m the motors may
have to be replaced due to long storage. The
original price was approx. $55,000.
