week ending April 12 will decrease by 11
percent. Present week purchases for the
week ending April 5 were 209,397 cases
which was 55 percent below the prior
week and 15 percent below estimates.

Mostly prices on frozen whole were un
changed to slightly lower and the balance
of items were mostly unchagned when
compared when compared to previous
week’s trading. The market tone ranged
from steady to barely steady as shell egg
prices dropped sharply in most areas. De
mand was only fair with buyers watching
furthere market developments. Offerings
were adequate for immediate trade needs.
Breaking stock supplies were adequate to
fully adequate. Liquid and frozen eggs
(ingredients included) processed under
federal inspection in the Eastern region
for the week ending March 30 were 1%
lower than the previous week but 1%
more than a year ago.
