Trucklot buying activity was noted as
light and typical of midweek trading. Of
ferings of breast items were at least suffi
cient. Dark meat cuts were fully ade
quate. Wings were ample and often
available at discounted levels to stimulate
sales. Movement through retail and distri
butive channels was generally fair at best
with feature activity generating lukewarm
consumer interest. The market tone was
barely steady to weak on wings, no better
than steady on the balance

and 1 cent lower on medium. Trade senti
ment continues unstettled to weak. De
mand was irregular. Supplies were suffi
cient for current needs The New York
State shell egg inventory was 36% less
than last Monday, however the New Jer
sey shell egg inventory was 8% more than
the previous week.

was moderate and are clearing the market
at a reasonable rate. Demand was moder
ate with average buyer interest and trad
ing. Live supplies was moderate for the
market being reported with an estimated
slaughter of 1,400,000 compared to
1,138,000 last Tuesday. Weights was de
sirable. Processing schedules was moder
ate. Actual slaughter for the week of 3/
25-29 was 6,275,475 head, average weight
4.94.
Negotiated F. 0.8. dock prices, 2
pounds aqd heavier ice-packed broilers
and fryers, trucklot sales of US Grade A
or equivalent were steady at .44 - .55 per
pound; less than trucklot sales .44 -.63 per
pound.

percent. Present week purchases for the
week ending March 29 were 469,956 cases
which was 58 percent above the prior
week and 12 percent above estimates.

17%; TOTAL: 469,956 up 58%.
