Trucklot buying activity was very light during midweek
trading as dealers attempted to remain as lean as possible
heading toward the holiday weekend. In addition, product was
available across the board and freshness was increasingly a
concern. Offerings of breast items were at least adequate to
available. Wings were fully adequate. l-cgs and leg quarters
were ample and thighs were starting to build at some locations.
Movement through retail and distributive channels remained
seasonally slow The market tone was barely steady to in
stances weak. Trade sentiment was cautious

whites, and lower on yolks when compared to previous week's
trading The market tone was fully steady on whole and
usually steady to improving on balance of items. Demand and
trading was mostly light to occasionally moderate Floor stocks
were adequate Breaking slock supplies were usually barely
adequate for irregular needs even though some breaking facili
ties reduced schedules Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients in

In Philadelphia, prices were unchanged to 6
cents lower on the larger sizes and unchanged for
mediums. Elsewhere, prices were unchanged. The
market tone was weak on white eggs. Demand
was moderate to instances good, slightly better
where Easter features stimulated additional move
ment. Supplies were adequate for trade needs. In
Philadelphia, large eggs were on special for 69
cents per dozen. Breaking stock offerings were
about adequate to ample for the light to fair de
mand. Light type hens were usually sufficient.
