Steve and Phyllis are joined by son Daniel and his wife Tina, in addition to his brother Steve and Steve’s wife Becky. The family’s feedlot can handle 700 head of cattle at one time. Full-time employee Allen King and his wife Steph also help with the operation. They rent 1,200 acres and own 480, growing most of their feed and selling the remainder on the open market. Additionally they have 100 Crossbred beef cows on the farm. Daniel, a seventh-generation farmer, believes that community involvement is important for today’s producers. He credits the older genera tions of his family with doing a good job at working with the younger generations. “It’s gen erations working together to preserve the future of our farms,” Daniel said.
