Grain Market
Summary
St Joseph, MO
March 20,2002
Report Supplied By USDA
Grain and soybean bids were mostly
lower for the day, however, another over
night export order for mostly white
wheat lent some support to wheat bids.
Wet weather in winter wheat areas also
weighed on bids but traders are keeping
an eye on the cooler temperatures. Slight
declines in com bids were due to the con
tinued absence of fresh export interest
this week and weakness in soybean pits.
Soybean bids dropped sharply lower after
Tuesday’s higher trend. South American
weather remains a pressure factor for
beans as well as the lack of export de
mand. Traders are waiting for next
week’s Planting Intentions report to be re
leased. Wheat 2 to 5 cents lower except
Portland 1 to 2 cents higher. Com steady
to mostly 1 cent lower. Sorghum 1 to 5
