Trucklot buying activity was mostly
light and unaggressive during mid-week
trading as most dealers remained cautious
and limited product to immediate needs.
Offerings of bone-in breasts were fully
adequate and boneless boneless-skinless
breasts were more than sufficient for
trade needs. Wings were readily available.
Dark meat cuts were ample. Movement
through retail and distributive channels
was seasonally slow. The market tone was
barely steady to weak on breast items and
wings. Weak on dark meat cuts.

Mostly prices wen higher on whole,
unchanged to higher on whites, and un
changed on yolks when compared to pre
vious week’s trading. Trade sentiment
was steady to hilly steady. Demand re
mained light for trucklot volumes, and in
quiry for small volumes was light to mod
erate. Floor stocks were adequate.
Breaking stock supplies ranged barely
adequate to tight, as plants competed
with grading facilities preparing for up
coming Easter needs. Liquid and frozen
eggs (ingredients included) processed
under federal inspection in the Eastern
region for the week ending March 09,
2002 were 41% less than the previous
week and 36% lower than the same week
last year.

Elsewhere, prices were higher on medi
ums and unchanged on the remainder of
sizes. The market tone continued in a frill
range of steady to firm, but was mostly
frilly steady. Retail and distributive de
mand was moderate to good. Supplies
were about adequate to at times tight for
present needs. Breaking stock supplies in
the Midwest were tight for a moderate de
mand. The Eastern region breaking offer
ings were limited, but were short to about
adequate and demand was fair. Light
type fowl were generally adequate.

mostly barely steady to weak. Retail de
mand was seasonally slow to fair with
buying interest focused towards more tra-
ditkmal holiday items. Food aervice was
strongest into fast food for promotions.
Supplies were adequate to ample and fre
quently discounted to clear. In the parts
structure, trading was light and limited to
immediate needs. Tenders were in the
best balance, but not difficult to find, and
all other items were at least fully suffi
cient and barely moving. In production
areas, live supplies were moderate.
Weights were in a frill range, but mostly
desirable.
