tone was mostly steady to occasionally
steady. Demand was moderate to good
but not as active as last week. Supplies
were about adequate to sufficient for ir
regular needs. The New York State inven
tory was 10 percent more than the previ
ous week and the New Jersey State
inventory was 24 percent more than a
week ago.

The market tone was steady, with some
caution noted. Demand was irregular,
mostly moderate to good, best where
limited features were in progress. Sup
plies were about adequate to sufficient for
current needs. Breaking stock offerings
were irregular but usually barely adequate
for the fair demand. Spent hen availabili
ty was gene'ally sufficient for the tight to
moderate demand.

Trucklot buying activity on ready-to
cook whole broiler/fryers was light to fair
at best as dealers limited offers to imme
diate needs. Offerings of all sizes were at
least adequate to available with 3 pound
and heavier sizes generally in the better
balance. Movement through retail and
distributive channels was seasonally slow.
The market tone was about steady to
barely steady.
