Arrangement This system includes two
►< pumps, a Roots blower, UV Sterilizer, diverter M
H valve, three float switches, control panel and m
remote alarm panel All equipment except the
M remote alarm panel is assembled on the unit ►<
The unit is divided internally into two tanks, a
►< media tank and a wet well The wet well is a|J
retention tank, sized for adequate disinfection h
time during peak flow periods Biological
►< treatment takes place in the media tank The m
media is assembled into blocks using corrugated
►< sheets of PVC, which provide flow channels and M
a large surface area tor microbial growth
►< Operation. Raw sewage enters the media tank ►<
through the influent trap at one end ot the unit m

The wet well is discharged by one ot the
M duplex discharge pumps Each is rated for 100% M
M duty, ergo one pump is selected as the “duty”
M pump and the other as “standby" If the duty
M pump malfunctions, the water level in the well m
reaches the “high level” float switch,
H automatically starting the standby, which will M
pump until the wet well level reaches the “pump
M off’ float switch which turns the standby pump M

One pump runs continuously, pumping water
M from the wet well through the UV sterilizer, the H
diverter valve and back to the wet well Each time £<

germicidal ultraviolet radiation disinfects the
